1) INTRODUCTION
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a guide based on the game Tales of Legendia for Playstation 2. It was
released in America on 2/7/06 and released in stores on 2/8/06. It was
released in Japan on 8/25/05. This FAQ will guide you through the side quests
in this game. I appreciate your patience for reading this and hope you enjoy
my guide. I will also try to update regularly, if there is anything else that
needs to be added.

3) ABOUT THIS GUIDE
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This explains what I left off in the Introduction of the guide. This guide is
solely about the Side Quests of Tales of Legendia. Let me tell you now that
this is not for the CHARACTER QUESTS in the game. The Character Quests ARE
part of the game and are required to be beaten, in order to actually COMPLETE
Tales of Legendia. And I advise you should, because the ending is AWESOME.
Probably the best TALES OF ending.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4) SIDE QUESTS
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A) ARENA
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Arena is probably one of the best aspects of Tales of Legendia, as well as
the BEST Side Quest. The Arena can be found during the Character Quests, in
the Dreaming Traveler's basement, or the lower floor of the Bar in the Inn.
It is actually introducted to you in the Character Quests Introduction
chapter. The battle that takes place, though, is not part of the actual arena,
but just a set up. Poor Moses.
In the Arena, you can test your skills and even gain some experience. You can
gain great items and weapons, as well as get a lot of money, that's pretty
much worthless.
There are two types of combat in the arena. Single Matches and Team Matches.
They pretty much speak for themselves, but I'll explain anyway. In the Single
Matches, your Lead Character is put to the test of surviving and testing his
or her skills. For some of the matches, you have to use your wits, depending
on who you are. In the Team Matches, your whole party of four, meaning your
lead four, will be put to the test of testing their skills. Obviously, Team
Matches are easier. Think you're up for it?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SINGLE MATCHES
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Obviously, Senel or Chloe are best for clearing the Single Matches, FOR THE
FIRST TIME, unless you are ready to fight Mimi. I suggest doing the Team
Matches first, before even THINKING about challenging Mimi, though I pretty
much beat her in the 70's.
The Advanced Class offers Weapons or Armor for each character you beat it
with, as well as a Title.
You can replay the matches, though the Prizes will be different from the first
time you actually beat them. The Prize Money does not change. Please note that
you CAN NOT fight Mimi twice.
----------------
BEGINNER (500 GALD)
----------------
ROUND 1: Yellow-Bellied Hopper
ROUND 2: Boss Bear X
ROUND 3: Knock Megant
----------------
PRIZE(S): Life Bottle, Flare Bottle, Dinei Bottle
REPLAY PRIZE(S): Apple Gel, Orange Gel, Melange Gel
MONEY: 5000 Gald
These monsters are pretty easy, but equip your character with a Poison Charm
to prevent the Yellow-Bellied Hopper's venom.
----------------
INTERMEDIATE (1000 GALD)
----------------
ROUND 1: Dandarantula
ROUND 2: Ves Diva
ROUND 3: Peepit
----------------
PRIZE(S): Life Bottle, Flare Bottle, Dinei Bottle, Acuity Bottle,
Guard Bottle, Climax Bottle
REPLAY PRIZE(S): Lemon Gel, Pineapple Gel, Miracle Gel
MONEY: 10,000 Gald
These monsters are not hard, but in order to win the second round, you MUST
equip your character with a Stone Charm. The Ves Diva can screw you over with
a gaze.
----------------
ADVANCED (1500 GALD)
----------------
ROUND 1: Tree Turtle
ROUND 2: Sea Angler
ROUND 3: Storm Dragon
----------------
PRIZE(S): "Fist of Lightning" - Senel, "Brainy Champ" - Will, "Soul Edge"
- Chloe, "Bubble Master" - Norma, "Brawl Master" - Moses, "Jay the Assassin"
- Jay, "Her Majesty" - Grune, "Angry Merines" - Shirley
REPLAY PRIZE(S): Melange Gel, Miracle Gel, Scallop Gel, Life Bottle, Syrup
Bottle, Shell Bottle
MONEY: 30,000 Gald
The second round is annoying, because the Sea Angler is annoying. As long as
you have some sort of Healing Item equiped(or you ARE a healer), you're good.
----------------
SPECIAL (0 GALD)
----------------
ROUND 1: Mimi
----------------
PRIZE(S): Heaven's Claw
MONEY: 500,000 Gald
Mimi is EXTREMELY annoying. If you've already gone through Chloe's character
quest, you can see that she's just as annoying to fight. She's hard as hell
to knock down and usually turns the tables around to YOU. If it's possible,
try to knock her down and use Senel's throws(if you're using him). Make sure
you're an EXTREMELY high level for this.
MY STRATEGY:
This is how I beat Mimi. First, I finished the Team Matches and after
completing the Advanced Match, I got the Extreme Symbol. It's an item that
drastically increases your Attack, but decreases your deffense DRASTICALLY.
What the hell is the use in that, you ask?
Anyway, I equipped the Extreme Symbol on Senel and started the battle. As soon
as the battle started, I went into Climax Mode and SPAMMED Beast. I was around
Level 70. Mimi got owned and I was happy.
After Mimi, you've completed the Single Matches.
FROM JOHN (Acara12@comcast.net)
How to beat Mimi and the Sea Angler in the Tales of Legendia Arena.
I find that Chloe at about level 56 works well with those two. If you use Prima
Donna+Bind (Compound Eres, I forgot the exact ones though) You counter their
easily blocked attacks and stop their movement. Then use Sword Rain: Omega, it
takes off a decent amount of health, especially with Extreme and Eternal
Sword. It’s very easy to beat them at full health with that combo.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TEAM MATCHES
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unlike the Single Matches, the Team Matches are much easier. Why? Well,
because you've got your whole crew of four on your team!
I suggest beating the Single Matches with your lead character (obviously
pointing to Senel or Chloe), and getting their strongest weapon or armor. As
long as you do that, you're pretty much fine, IF, you're worried about the
Special Match in this one, too. I didn't do this, though.
The Special Match is MUCH easier than the Single Matches' Special Match, but
it's not going to be as easy as it sounds.
For a party, I suggest: Senel, Norma, Chloe, and Jay, as they will be much
help in these rounds. I STRONGLY suggest Norma in your party, if you do not
like the party arangement. Norma is great for healing and she will be a vital
part to these matches, ESPECIALLY since she has Ressurection. (and the fact
that she's so awesome >_>) You should also limit her spells, so that she JUST
does healing and support techniques, if you really need to.
You can replay the matches, though the Prizes will be different from the first
time you actually beat them. The Prize Money does not change. Please note that
you CAN NOT fight Curtis and Isabella twice. The rest is purely up to you.
----------------
BEGINNER (1000 GALD)
----------------
ROUND 1: Sand Lizard x4
ROUND 2: Blue Galf, Phynx
ROUND 3: Megant, Gelures Sword, Gelures Shield
----------------
PRIZE(S): Life Bottle x2, Flare Bottle, Dinei Bottle x2
REPLAY PRIZE(S): Apple Gel x2, Orange Gel x2, Melange Gel x2
MONEY: 10,000 Gald
These guys are easy, though in the second and third rounds, watch out for
the Phynx and the Gelures Shield, because they will go STRAIGHT for the
characters in the rear, mainly the Crystal Eres users. The best solution is to
knock them down and throw them.
----------------
INTERMEDIATE (2000 GALD)
----------------
ROUND 1: Hopper x2, Hopperfly x2
ROUND 2: Burning Eryngi x2, Kes Element, Ves Element
ROUND 3: Peepit Chick x3, Electric Angler
----------------
PRIZE(S): Life Bottle x3, Flare Bottle x3, Dinei Bottle x3, Acuity Bottle x3,
Guard Bottle x3, Climax Bottle x3
REPLAY PRIZE(S): Lemon Gel x3, Pineapple Gel x3, Miracle Gel x3
MONEY: 20,000 Gald
The Hoppers and Hopperflys in the first round will tick you off. As long as
they don't hop on one of your Crystal Eres users, you're fine. Let them cast
at them, and let Norma heal, or if your only Crystal Eres user IS Norma, then
let her do both. In the second round, check the elemental status by looking at
the monsters. Some spells can heal them if it matches their element.
----------------
ADVANCED (3000 GALD)
----------------
ROUND 1: Lightning Bear, Paradise Peepit X, Mandrake
ROUND 2: Plain Ere, Charm Ere, Ice Ere
ROUND 3: Lion Gaet, Hard-Headed Hopper
----------------
PRIZE(S): Extreme Symbol, Elixir
REPLAY PRIZE(S): Melange Gel x4, Miracle Gel x4, Scallop Gel x4, Life Bottle
x4, Syrup Bottle x4, Shell Bottle x4
MONEY: 60,000 Gald
The damn Mandrake in the first round is annoying as hell. He can strike down
your allies with his spells. Hurry up and take him out first, and you should
be fine.
----------------
SPECIAL (0 GALD)
----------------
ROUND 1: Curtis and Isabella
----------------
PRIZE(S): Krona Symbol
MONEY: 1,000,000 Gald
If you don't have Norma, YOU ARE SCREWED. DO NOT let her die. If she dies, the
battle is OVER. Make sure to equip her with a Rebirth Doll, so that if she
DOES happen to die, she'll be revived. Have her ONLY doing healing techniques,
since these two are VERY hard. It doesn't take an extremely high level to beat
them, but it DOES take a good amount of skill. You can equip Healing Items,
since they will most likely help. I suggest putting the greatest healing item
on Chloe, since she dies too often.
After this battle is completed, you've officially finished the Arena! Yay!! To
Celebrate, let's do the rest of the Side Quests!
If you have any strategies on beating the enemies in the Arena, send it to my
email, and I will gladly post it on this.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CAMEO BATTLES
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have decided to put this up on the Side Quest section, because it's one of
the most annoying things people like to ask about this game.
Q: What are Cameo Battles?
A: Cameo Battles are reappearances of other TALES OF Characters by Namco. It's
a group of overpowered characters that you fight in the Arena as an Extra
Battle.
Q: What Games have Cameo Battles?
A: Tales of Eternia, Tales of Symphonia, and Tales of the Abyss.
Q: What Characters have already been featured?
A: Cless(ToP) and Arche(ToP)(ToE Cameo), Farah(ToE), Meredy(ToE), and
Woodrow(ToD)(ToS Cameo), Reid(ToE), Phillia(ToD), Nanaly(ToD2), and Mint(ToP)
(TotA Cameo)
Q: Why doesn't Tales of Legendia have a Cameo Battle!?
A: Who knows why they didn't add one? But, there's no reason to complain. This
game is still great. And it's not like they were excluding Legendia. Tales of
Rebirth and Tales of Destiny 2 did not get one either, though Destiny 2 DID
have Cameos of characters from Tales of Destiny. Why? Because it's a SEQUEL.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B) SHIINA'S SONGS
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SHIINA FROM TALES OF SYMPHONIA!? No.
Shiina is the piano player found in the Bar located in the Inn. He can be
talked to, once the Character Quests have begun. You can talk to him, and he
will play various tracks from the game. His selection seems limited, but you
can unlock additional tracks by bringing types of bread that he requests in
his.. song-riddle thingy.
He will request Toast, Pizza, Crepe, Flan Cake, and Mabo Curry Pie.
Here is a list of the tracks and bread needed to unlock them. I suggest you do
so. Tales of Legendia has probably one of the best Original Soundtracks in
the whole TALES OF franchise. Along with Abyss, this is really something you
must listen to.

C) KOSHIZA'S ART
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Koshiza is an artist that lives on the west side of Werites Beacon. To put it
simple, he's the house west of Will's house. You can talk to him during the
Character Quests and she will show you various pieces of art from him. You
can use different characters to see different pieces of art. Not all of them
are available right away, so check back later.

D) KAZ AND AIFREAD'S JOURNAL
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At the beggining of the Character Quests, you will recieve a Sorcerer's
Scanner from Curtis and Isabella. You use it to hunt 'rare' items... or more
in hype, Monsters. You will automatically get the first one, thanks to Norma,
and will also get a skit. After you're done getting one, you'll have to look
for the rest on your own with little hints from Kaz, who is located in Werites
Beacon, just from the exit to Fallingwater near the save point. He is in a
house, so don't talk to people near the save point. You get rare items, used
in customization and so on. After a long time of searching, I've encountered
all of them. They have lame names, I know. Anyway, once you get them all, you
can talk to Kaz for an item, as well as a title.

the "legendary" Blue Sephira. Talk to him in each Character Quest, from Will's
to Jay's, to gain clues on where it is located. Search the locations and
return to him at a later time. Clues and Locations are set up so that he only
provides the next clue before you explore the area in question. You can keep
all the items you find, including the Blue Sephira, but make sure to see him
when you get the final item. Also, don't forget to equip the Sephira and Blue
Sephira on Norma at the same time, to get a skit.

an item for Jay. Talk to her twice at the end of this side quest to get your
reward.
It is vital that you speak to her these CERTAIN times to complete this quest.

with a full basket. If you have found all of Mimi's hiding spots in the Main
Quest, then she will give you a basket that holds 30 Breads.
Afterwards, speak to her when you have all the recipies, except the Fish Stew
Bread Bowl. She will then give you the last recipe, as well as a title for
Jay.

INTRODUCTION
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
+++
In Tales of Legendia, the characters' special abilities are called "Eres,"
and
have particular ways of being learned. First of all, there are two types of
Eres-Iron Eres, and Crystal Eres. Iron Eres are basically the physical
techniques, and have three classifications: base, arcane, and compound.
Base
Eres are self-explanatory; they are simply learned while leveling up, and
are
usually simple attacks. These base Eres can be mastered by using them each
fifty times, unlocking that Eres' "essence." When the right Eres essences
are
released, then an arcane Eres can be unlocked; an arcane Eres is a
combination
of multiple base Eres. The final type of Eres, the compound Eres, is a
player-
customized ability made up of three different base/arcane Eres. The Eres in
the first slot always have a yellow icon next to them. The Eres in the
second slot needs to have a blue icon that is the same shape as the first
icon. The last Eres can be any Eres with a green icon: all arcane Eres are
green, and some base Eres as well. The first two slots determine what new
ability is made, and the third Eres changes the extra ability that it does.
It will probably look something like this:
Demon Seal +

yellow, circular symbol here) Crow Blade <-----------First Slot
2: (blue, circular symbol here) Ill Wind <-------------Second Slot
3: (green symbol here) Silent Lightning <-------------Third Slot
__________________________________________
DEMON SEAL +Lightning Down
Compound: Stop the enemy and rain daggers down. Best against Fiends. Lowers
resistance to lightning.
As noted, all compound Eres also are particular effective against certain
races of enemies. If one were to change the third slot Eres, the "+" effect
would change, depending on what Eres was put in its place.
Crystal Eres are far more simple. When a Crystal-Eren reaches a certain
level,
s/he will receive an Eres scroll. This scroll is kept by that Eren, and it
contains information for what is required for that Eres. (This can easily
be
checked by going to any Crystal-Eren's Eres screen, and looking at the
details
of the desired Eres by pressing the square button). The requirements are
things called Eres stones. When you look at the details of an Eres, you'll
see
something like this:
JUDGEMENT
_____________________________________________________________________
(shiny blue thing) Gentleman Required: 500 Total: 689
(shiny blue thing) Fiend Required: 750 Total: 870
_____________________________________________________________________
This tells you exactly what kind of Eres stones you need, how many are
required, and how many you currently possess. You receive these different
Eres
by defeating certain races of monsters. For ex., If I needed 742 Egg Bear
Eres
to learn Absolute, then I would have to find monsters of the Egg Bear race,
and destroy them until I received enough Eres stones. (You know you
received an Eres stone if you destroy an enemy and see a floating blue
thing that says,
"sculpture drop"). You can check what race a monster is by using a magic
lens,
but after a while you'll be able to recognize them by looking at them. Once
you've fulfilled both of the requirements, the character has learned the
Eres,
and can use it at any time, as much as s/he wants.
(Some tips before you read)
In Legendia, there are of course elemental attributes to some Iron Eres,
and most
Crystal Eres. There are six elements, and they are paired up into sets that
are
both strong against each other. The sets are;
Earth <-------------> Lightning
Fire <--------------> Ice
Sea <---------------> Curse
Also, each character can use a defensive Ere, "Guardian," by pressing down
while
blocking. This can only be done with the player control character, and the
Ere
"Guardian" is not actually listed anywhere. It is basically a super-guard
that
shields against enemy Crystal Eres as well. Use it as much as you want,
since it has no TP cost, but remember that there's a time after the
character uses Guardian in which s/he is vulnerable.

2.a Senel Coolidge
+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+
=+=
Senel's your protagonist, so he'll obviously be your best character. He
uses
martial arts, and is vaguely similar to Regal from Tales of Symphonia.
Demon Fist
First Eres learned
TP Used: 4
Unleash a powerful shockwave across the ground.
Pretty plain. Senel shoots a shockwave straight ahead of him, doing a
little
extra damage.
Shadow Rush
Level 2
TP Used: 4
Base: Move and attack in an instant.
Again, a little dull. Senel quickly rushes in and attacks, doing about as
much
damage as demon fist, but close range.
Impact
Level 4
TP Used: 5
Base: Hit with all your might to down the enemy.
Your first ability that will knock down an opponent. As you will find out,
this
is essential for performing powerful throws.
Ground Slam
Level 6
TP Used: 6
Base: Throw an enemy that is down. (Weight: Feather)
Yippee, your first throw. However, it can only lift up those with feather
weight-that narrows down your choices to peepit chicks, elements, eggtopi,
etc. Don't worry, stronger throws will come.
Dragon Blast
Level 11
TP Used: 8
Base: An uppercut that launches the enemy into the air.
Nothing to say here. It's actually a two-hit ability: he launches the enemy
up, then hits it back into the ground.
Talon Strike
Level 15
TP Used: 9
Base: Attack from above and jump away.
A bit hard to use sometimes. Senel jump up, then kicks the enemy two times,
and jumps back. Since Senel jumps pretty high, it will be most effective
against big enemies, or flying enemies. Plenty powerful though, and a good
escape move, since he jumps back some.
Stone Crush
Level 17
TP Used: 10
Base: Throw an enemy that is down. (Weight: Light)
Speaking of stronger throws... this one is a little more versatile, since
it
can throw feather and light enemies (by the way, with throws, a throw can
also
throw any enemy that is lighter than the described weight. i.e., Stone
Crush
can also throw peepit chicks; it says he's doing stone crush, but he's
actually performing ground slam. It's very convenient, if you ask me). This
adds several more targets to his throwing repertoire, such as Eres (the
enemy).
Coil
Level 19
TP Used: 11
Base: Temporarily raise ATK.
I really like coil. Although it's a relatively small boost, it shows. Very
easy to use, and is great for early in the game.
Swallow Dance
Level 23
TP Used: 13
Base: Rapid Spinning kicks in mid-air.
Self-explanatory.
Landslide
Level 25
TP Used: 13
Base: Throw an enemy that is down. (Weight: Middle)
With landslide, Senel can throw many more enemies, some examples being
Gelures
Swords and Shields, Gald Sharks, and Peepits.
Talon Storm
Level 27
TP Used: 14
Base: Attack the enemy with rapid kicks.
Very similar to Chloe's Sword Rain. Each of the kicks does less damage than
one of Senel's normal attacks, but the damage adds up to a sizable amount.
Whirlwind Dash
Level 31
TP Used: 16
Base: Powerful backwards roundhouse kick.
Although it looks very plain (it's basically just Senel doing a roundhouse
kick), it's deceivingly powerful. The TP cost is sizable for early in the
game, so don't overuse it too much.
Avalanche Drop
Level 33
TP Used: 17
Base: Throw an enemy that is down. (Weight: Heavy)
Adding heavy monsters to your throw-able list, Senel can throw almost any
monster. Mandrakes, Divas, Zephyrs, Gentlemen, and others.
Twin Demon Fist
Level 35
TP Used: 17
Base: Unleash multiple shockwaves along the ground.
It's just two consecutive demon fists, nothing special.
Dragon Crush
Level 39
TP Used: 19
Base: Close in and knock the enemy high into the air.
Kind of plain, as you can tell. However, I have found it to be very
effective.
It is a relatively short attack, so it has a short recovery time as well.
Rending Earth
Level 42
TP Used: 20
Base: Throw an enemy that is down. (Weight: Massive)
Finally, the last throw. You can finally throw those annoying Base Turtles.
Wyrm Rush
Level 44
TP Used: 21
Base: Rush the enemy and unleash a combo.
Very nice attack; just make sure you don't run out of TP when you use it
too
much. It's six hits in all.
Beast
Level 49
TP Used: 23
Base: Down the enemy with the force of a charging lion.
One of Senel's better Eres that knocks the enemy down. He head-butts the
enemy, then unleashes a translucent-blue lion on the enemy. Both hits
combined, it deals about 4x the damage of one of Senel's normal attacks.
Talon Blast
Level 59
TP Used: 27
Base: Rapid kicks end in a blast that downs the enemy.
It's basically Talon Storm + Demon Blast, so I don't know why it's not an
arcane Eres.
Phoenix Strike
Level 69
TP Used: 31
Base: Down the enemy in a blazing attack from above. A. ATR.:Fire
He jumps too high!!! Sometimes, he will go straight over an enemy. Also, it
has a fire attribute, so be careful who you're using it on.
Lord of Creation
Level 99
TP Used: 40
Base: Throw an enemy that is down, regardless of weight.
It is cruel and unusual punishment to make anybody level up to level 99.
Wow, I had a miserable time learning this Eres. However, it is still a
great Eres. You can use Lord of Creation on any enemy, including those
normally thrown by his compound Eres (if you use it on a Grand Gaet, for
instance, he will perform Overlord Surge-without the added status effect,
though).
Demon Shadow
Master Demon Fist and Shadow Rush
TP Used: 6
Arcane: A combination of Demon Fist & Shadow Rush.
Neither are exactly the best abilities, so I generally don't use it too
often.
Demon Blast
Master Demon fist and Impact
TP Used: 7
Arcane: A concentrated strike that downs the enemy.
The ability isn't all that bad. Once you master Impact, you should probably
start using Demon Blast instead, since the TP change isn't that drastic.
Divine Dragon
Master Impact and Dragon Blast
TP Used: 10
Arcane: Hit with all your might and launch the enemy up.
It starts with a Demon Blast, then transitions into the first hit of Dragon
Blast. Does not knock the enemy down.
Impact Coil
Master Impact and Coil
TP Used: 14
Arcane: Boost ATK with Coil and down enemy with Impact.
Who knows where this move came from. Uses too much TP, and combines two
Eres
which belong separate.
Phantom Dragon Dance
Master Swallow Dance and Shadow Rush
TP Used: 16
Arcane: A combination of Swallow Dance & Shadow Rush.
Senel rushes in with Shadow Rush, then performs Swallow Dance.
Swallow Storm
Master Talon Storm and Swallow Dance
TP Used: 18
Arcane: A combination of Talon Storm & Swallow Dance.
During the entire ability, Senel is grounded. He launches a very long
string
of small kicks, then finishes off with four powerful kicks. Good ability
for
combos, but it's a very long ability, so once you start it, you can't stop
him. (Keep in mind that during all of these abilities, Senel can be
interrupted by an enemy attack).
Whirlwind Blast
Master Whirlwind Dash and Dragon Blast.
TP Used: 20
Arcane: A combination of Whirlwind Dash & Dragon Blast.
Two nice, short attacks performed consecutively. Not bad at all.
Demon Strike
Master Demon Fist and Twin Demon Fist
TP Used: 22
Arcane: A massive shockwave cuts through the enemy.
Although it is somehow related, Demon Strike is nothing like Demon Fist. It
hits the enemy directly in front of Senel with a large wave of energy,
briefly
knocking it into the air. It does a little more damage than a normal
attack.
Wyrm Crush
Master Dragon Crush and Wyrm Rush
TP Used: 27
Arcane: A combination of Dragon Crush & Wyrm Rush.
Almost exactly like Wyrm Rush, only the first hit does more damage and
knocks
the enemy further into the air, like in Dragon Crush.
Beast Impact
Master Impact and Beast
TP Used: 29
Arcane: Down the enemy with a massive hit and lion's fury.
Like Demon Blast + Beast. Very powerful! The only thing is that there is a
longer pause in between the three hits, so it can be interrupted.
Whirlwind Talon Blast
Master Whirlwind Dash and Talon Blast
TP Used: 34
Arcane: A combination of Whirlwind Dash & Talon Blast.
Starts with a powerful Whirlwind Dash, then turns into Talon Blast. Downs
the
enemy.
Dragon Strike
Master Dragon Crush and Phoenix Strike
TP Used: 39
Arcane: Rising strike and blazing drop to down the enemy. A. ATR.: Fire
Pretty expensive Eres. This greatly improves Phoenix Strike, since it
knocks
the enemy into the air first, making them much easier to hit. Again, be
aware
of your enemies elemental affinities.
FIRST SLOT SECOND SLOT OUTCOME
Ground Slam + Shadow Rush = Writhing Demon
+ Dragon Blast = Ogre Drop
Stone Crush + Coil = Scale Assault
Landslide + Coil = Sandman Hurl
Avalanche Drop + Twin Demon Fist = Dag Surge
+ Talon Storm = Serpent Strangle
Rending Earth + Wyrm Rush = Demolition
+ Dragon Crush = Overlord Surge
+ Beast = Nerifes Crush
+ Phoenix Strike = Killing Time
THIRD SLOT
+ Demon Fist = No added effect.
+ Impact = Lowers enemy ATK
+ Talon Strike = Causes Poison
+ Swallow Dance = Causes Burning
+ Whirlwind Dash = Causes Paralysis
+ Talon Blast = Causes Poison
+ Demon Shadow = Lowers enemy ACC
+ Demon Blast = Lowers enemy DEF
+ Divine Dragon = Causes Burning
+ Impact Coil = Lowers enemy ATK
+ Phantom Dragon Dance = Lowers enemy ACC
+ Swallow Storm = Causes Paralysis
+ Demon Strike = Causes Poison
+ Wyrm Crush = Causes Panic
+ Beast Impact = Causes Burning
+ Whirlwind Talon Blast = Causes Panic
+ Dragon Strike = Causes Instant Death
+ Lord of Creation = No added effect.
(NOTE: Nerifes Crush and Killing Time have no added effect, regardless)
You have probably noticed that when checking the weight of certain enemies,
it
says, "special." These enemies with special weight classes are thrown by
one
of Senel's compound Eres.
Writhing Demon
TP Used: 40
Compound: Attack from inside a Dinowyrm. Enemy must be down.
Ogre Drop
TP Used: 40
Compound: Pick up a Megant and slam it down. Enemy must be down.
Scale Assault
TP Used: 40
Compound: Attack from inside a Hill Angler. Enemy must be down.
Sandman Hurl
TP Used: 40
Compound: Throw a Mimic Bed. Enemy must be down.
Dag Surge
TP Used: 40
Compound: Attack from inside a Sea Gaet. Enemy must be down.
Serpent Strangle
TP Used: 40
Compound: Slam a Dragon into the ground. Enemy must be down.
Demolition
TP Used: 40
Compound: Throw an Automaton. Enemy must be down.
Nerifes Crush
TP Used: 40
Compound: Throw the embodiment of the Raging Nerifes. Enemy must be down.
Killing Time
TP Used: 40
Compound: Throw an evil god. Enemy must be down.
(By evil god, it means Schwartz)

2.b Chloe Valens
+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+
=+=
Chloe is your resident sword fighter, and the third character you meet on
the
Legacy. Very much like Lloyd in Symphonia, only a tad bit slower (sorry
about
all the Symphonia references!). Although her normal attacks are slow, her
defense is relatively low, and her Eres lag along in the beginning, once
she
levels up, she becomes awesomely powerful.
Demon Fang
First Eres learned
TP Used: 5
Base: Unleash a powerful shockwave along the ground.
Chloe's version of Demon Fist.
Sword Rain
???
TP Used: 5
Base: Attack the enemy with rapid thrusts.
Chloe's version of Talon Storm, only learned much earlier. Great ability.
Tiger Blade
Level 8
TP Used: 7
Base: Slash the enemy into the air, then knock it down.
Dragon Blast, only with three hits; Chloe kicks the enemy while in the air.
Pretty fancy.
Shining Gale
Level 12
TP Used: 8
Base: Dash forward and run the enemy through.
Much like Shadow Rush, but faster.
Alpha Tempest
Level 16
TP Used: 10
Base: Rapid Kicks while balancing on the sword.
So much different than the old Tempest! Chloe puts her sword in the ground,
then kicks at the enemy, finishing by bringing her sword down over their
heads.
Eagle Rising
Level 20
TP Used: 11
Base: Rush in and slash the enemy up.
Chloe steps in a little bit, then throws her sword up, letting it spin in
the
air and slash at any nearby enemies. If all the hits land, it can add up to
a
large amount of damage.
Ram Strike
Level 24
TP Used: 13
Base: Rush in and blow the enemy down.
Chloe rushes forward, and sweeps her sword in front of her (kind of like a
baseball bat), knocking down any enemies.
New Moon Blade
Level 28
TP Used: 15
Base: A thrust that cuts deep into the enemy's body.
Nothing more than a thrust. Chloe turns around, and stabs whatever's behind
her (looks dangerous!).
Phantom Blade
Level 32
TP Used: 16
Base: Slash the enemy in a brutal pirouette.
It looks very cool. Chloe rushes at the enemy while spinning around,
slashing
them several times (it seems to make the enemy turn around too?). However,
has
slow cool down; Chloe must pause for several seconds as she regains her
bearings.
Focus
Level 36
TP Used: 18
Base: Temporarily raise ACC.
I'm not a big fan of accuracy. I really see no use for it. However, any
stat
bonus is useful, so Focus still has its place as an okay Eres.
Gambit
Level 40
TP Used: 19
Base: Skewer the enemy and pull it in close.
I'm not sure why you would want the enemy closer to you, but if you're okay
with that, then Gambit away.
Sword Rain: Alpha
Level 44
TP Used: 21
Base: Rapid thrusts blow the enemy away.
No, it's not a combination of Sword Rain and Alpha Tempest. It's basically
an
extended Sword Rain, closed off by a finishing thrust that knocks enemies
back
(does not knock enemies down).
Shining Storm
Level 48
TP Used: 23
Base: A quick thrust leads into multiple slashes.
Starts out like Shining Gale, then turns into a multi-slash combo.
Twin Demon Fang
Level 58
TP Used: 27
Base: Unleash multiple shockwaves along the ground.
Yippee, two Demon Fangs.
Lightning Tiger Blade
Level 68
TP Used: 31
Base: Call forth lightning and slash the enemy. A. ATR.: Lightning
Chloe goes through an extended Tiger Blade, then ends as a bolt of
lightning
strikes the enemy. Effective, but a bit pricey. As always, be sure the
enemy
isn't strong against lightning.
Sword Rain Demon
Master Demon Fang and Sword Rain
TP Used: 6
Arcane: A combination of Sword Rain & Demon Fang
Chloe does Sword Rain, then Demon Fang. Big whoop.
Sword Rain Tiger
Master Sword Rain and Tiger Blade
TP Used: 9
Arcane: A combination of Sword Rain & Tiger Blade
Both are very good abilities, and also a good combo Eres for early game.
Tiger Tempest
Master Tiger Blade and Alpha Tempest
TP Used: 13
Arcane: A combination of Tiger Blade & Alpha Tempest.
This is where things start getting good. Chloe does Alpha Tempest,
immediately
followed by Tiger Blade.
Demon Fang Blast
Master Demon Fang and Ram Strike
TP Used: 17
Arcane: Down the enemy by rushing in and cutting hard.
Chloe doesn't have very many abilities that down the enemy (unlike Senel),
so
Demon Fang Blast is a reasonable exchange for Ram Strike.
New Moon Rising
Master Eagle Rising and New Moon Blade
TP Used: 19
Arcane: A combination of New Moon Blade & Eagle Rising.
Chloe rushes in, throws up her sword, turns, and then stabs the enemy. Much
better than either of the Eres alone.
Sword Rain Phantom
Master Sword Rain and Phantom Blade
TP Used: 21
Arcane: A combination of Sword Rain & Phantom Blade.
Another great combo ability. The thing is that it ends with Phantom Blade,
so
this Eres also has the slow cool-down time.
Tempest Gambit
Master Alpha Tempest and Gambit
TP Used: 25
Arcane: A combination of Gambit & Alpha Tempest
As stated earlier, I'm not a big fan of Gambit. Nonetheless, drawing the
enemy
in with Gambit makes the following Alpha Tempest much more accurate.
Sword Rain: Omega
Master Sword Rain and Sword Rain: Alpha
TP Used: 27
Arcane: A combination of Sword Rain & Sword Rain: Alpha.
Wow-that's a lot of hits. Chloe does Sword Rain, then pauses very briefly,
then does Sword Rain: Alpha. Often totals to about 13-16 hits.
Shining Storm Rising
Master Shining Storm and Eagle Rising.
TP Used: 29
Arcane: A combination of Eagle Rising & Shining Storm.
Chloe steps in, does Eagle Rising, then ends with the Shining Storm stab.
Demon Fang Fury
Master Demon Fang and Twin Demon Fang
TP Used: 34
Arcane: Unleash a more powerful shockwave.
Basically a really powerful Demon Fang. Takes a while to warm up and cool-
down, and the shockwave could be more powerful, though. Can hit the enemy
at
any distance.
New Moon Lightning
Master New Moon Blade and Lightning Tiger Blade
TP Used: 39
Arcane: Down the enemy with a thrust of lightning. A. ATR: Lightning
Chloe does Lightning Tiger Blade, then when she does the New Moon Blade
stab
at the end, it knocks the enemy down. Check the opponent's affinities, as
usual.
FIRST SLOT SECOND SLOT OUTCOME
Shining Gale + Sword Rain = Cold Blood Rush
Alpha Tempest + Tiger Blade = Ursa Rage

Just like how all of Senel's compound Eres are throws, all of Chloe's are
counters. Chloe stands for about 5 seconds, blocking all the while. If an
enemy attacks her, she will attack that enemy back with a series of Eres.
(The
two Eres that were used to form the compound Eres).
Cold Blood Rush
TP Used: 40
Compound: Focus and counter the enemy's attack. Best against Lizardmen.
In Cold Blood Rush, Chloe counters with a long Sword Rain (about the length
of
Sword Rain: Alpha), followed by a thrust from Shining Gale.
Ursa Rage
TP Used: 40
Compound: Focus and counter the enemy's attack. Best against Egg Bears.
Chloe counters with an Alpha Tempest, followed by a Tiger Blade.
Wolf Rising
TP Used: 40
Compound: Focus and counter the enemy's attack. Best against Galfs.
Chloe performs Eagle rising, then knocks the enemy down with Ram Strike.
Shadow Steel
TP Used: 40
Compound: Focus and counter the enemy's attack. Best against Gelures
Swords.
Chloe shows off her Phantom Blade, then finishes off with a New Moon Blade.
Carapace Gambit
TP Used: 40
Compound: Focus and counter the enemy's attack. Best against Base Turtles.
Chloe slashes at the enemy, gets behind it, slashes it again, does Focus,
and
finishes with a Gambit.
Prima Donna
TP Used: 40
Compound: Focus and counter the enemy's attack. Best against Divas.
Chloe slashes, gets behind the enemy, does Shining Storm, then finishes
with
Sword Rain: Alpha, knocking the enemy down.

2.c Moses Sandor
+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+
=+=
Moses is a bit unusual, since he uses throwing spears in battle. Although
he
is an Iron Eren, he has to stay a safe distance away, so that he can
properly
hit the enemy. All of his abilities are long range, and it is difficult for
him to attack smaller enemies without the aid of his homing Eres.
Lone Wolf
First Eres learned
TP Used: 9
Base: Throw a spear with the spirit of a wolf.
Moses' first ability is a simple one-it is basically his normal attack,
only
more powerful, and with greater range.
Eagle Shot
Level 19
TP Used: 11
Base: Throw a massive spear from above.
Moses jumps up, and throws a spear in the air. A little hard to hit
sometimes.
Savage Strike
Level 24
TP Used: 13
Base: A spear shoots from below and launches the enemy up.
Moses throws a spear into the ground. The spear shoots up from below the
target enemy. Even if interrupted, the spear often still attacks the enemy.
A
useful skill, in the right conditions. Enemies can dodge it, if they're
fast
enough.
Outcast
Level 29
TP Used: 15
Base: Immobilize the enemy with a spear.
Outcast is a very fast Eres, and immobilizes the enemy rather than knocking
it
down; in some ways more advantageous for Moses, since he doesn't know any
throws. The enemy hit by Outcast is stopped for about two or three seconds.
Wolf Pack
Level 34
TP Used: 17
Base: Throw numerous spears.
Apparently, "numerous" means two spears. Moses throws two spears in fast
succession, at about the same range as his normal attack. He doesn't quite
throw them simultaneously, so it can be interrupted.
Wolf Storm
Level 39
TP Used: 19
Base: Multiple spears home in on the enemy.
Moses throws a spear into the air, and a large group of lights appear
around
an enemy. While Moses is "Charging up," these turn into spears that assault
the enemy. Has about seven hits in all. The attack is surprisingly
effective,
and relatively hard to dodge. The spears will still hit the enemy if Moses
is
interrupted while the lights appear.
Wild Rain
Level 44
TP Used: 21
Base: Spears rain down on the enemy.
Kind of like Wolf Storm, only not as many hits. Moses throws a spear into
the
air, and three more spears fall from the sky, hitting any enemies below.
Although not as many hits, the spears do more damage than the individual
spears in Wolf Storm.
Rogue Hunt
Level 54
TP Used: 25
Base: Down the enemy with a straight shot.
As noted, Rogue Hunt actually knocks down the enemy, unlike Outcast.
Although
Outcast is better to continue a combo, Rogue Hunt is also quick and safe,
and
can be used on an enemy if you need time to move Moses away, use an item,
etc.
Lion Cannon
Level 63
TP Used: 29
Base: Down the enemy with a giant spear from above.
A very showy move. Moses throws his spear into the air and then kicks it
up.
As he focuses on something on the ground, a glowing pink spear falls from
the
sky, and knocks an enemy down. Although quite powerful, I prefer Rogue
Hunt,
since Lion Cannon takes a long time to hit.
Rabid Wolf
Master Lone Wolf and Lion Cannon
TP Used: 14
Arcane: A barrage of spears like a pack of wolves.
Moses throws three glowing-red spears simultaneously. A very fast, fairly
powerful move. TP cost is also reasonable, compared to some of Moses' other
abilities. Definitely worth learning and using.
Lion Rain
Master Wild Rain and Wolf Pack
TP Used: 17
Arcane: Throw spears up and watch them rain down.
This time, Moses throws three consecutive spears up, and then watches as
ten
spears rain down on the enemies. The spears rain down pretty fast, but
Moses
takes a long time to actually throw them. However, the spears still rain if
he's interrupted.
Savage Wolf
Master Lone Wolf and Savage Strike
TP Used: 22
Arcane: Down the enemy with the spirit of a wolf.
Moses throws a wolfish-spear at the enemy, and a spear comes up from below,
knocking an enemy into the air. While the enemy is still airborne, Moses
throws another spear at it, knocking the enemy down. A bit complicated, but
quick to attack.
Outlaw
Master Outcast and Wolf Pack
TP Used: 24
Arcane: Take out the enemy with a vicious barrage.
Moses jumps into the air, and throws three spears at the target. The spears
do
about the same amount of damage as one of his normal attacks, but he is
generally safer up in the air. Sometimes he's not as accurate; it's best to
use against bigger enemies.
Lone Eagle
Master Lone Wolf and Eagle Shot
TP Used: 27
Arcane: Throw a powerful spear from above.
Although it will probably be one of Moses' first arcane Eres, it uses up a
lot
of TP. Lone Eagle is basically Eagle Shot, only about twice as much damage
(that means about 4x as much damage as his regular attack). Generally more
effective than Outlaw.
Savage Wolf Storm
Master Savage Strike and Wolf Storm
TP Used: 29
Arcane: A combination of Savage Strike & Wolf Storm
Moses throws a spear into the ground, as another spear jumps up from under
an
enemy. Immediately after, lights appear around an enemy, and launch about
four
spears at it. Although powerful, Wolf Storm by itself is actually better,
since the fact that it only shoots five spear in all makes it weaker.
Outcast Hunt
Master Outcast and Rogue Hunt
TP Used: 36
Arcane: Stop the enemy and down it with a mid-air attack.
Moses shoots a spear that immobilizes the enemy for several seconds
(Outcast),
then shoots two more spears from midair. Knocks the enemy down. A pretty
good
Eres, but the TP cost is pretty outrageous. I would avoid unless you're
having
Moses equip the Emerald of Faerie Ring.
FIRST SLOT SECOND SLOT OUTCOME
Lone Wolf + Eagle Shot = Witch Dragon
Savage Strike + Wolf Pack = Rotting Tiger
Outcast + Eagle Shot = Bird of Prey
Wolf Storm + Wolf Pack = Elemental Storm
Rogue Hunt + Wild Rain = Phoenix Scramble
+ Lion Cannon = Gryphon Shot
THIRD SLOT
+ Lion Rain = No added effect
+ Rabid Wolf = Lowers enemy INT
+ Savage Wolf = Lowers enemy CST
+ Outlaw = Lowers enemy ACC
+ Lone Eagle = Seal's enemy's Eres.
+ Savage Wolf Storm = Lowers enemy INT
+ Outcast Hunt = Lowers enemy ACC
All of Moses' compound Eres follow a distinct pattern: Moses charges up for
several seconds, then throws a spear into the ground. The spirit of some
animal then rises up under the enemy, and often knocks it down-leaving it
with
a status effect. Many of his added effects are anti-spellcaster; lowered
CST
and INT is great and all, but the by-far best effect is Lone Eagle, which
seals enemy's Eres (this is especially good, since he has compound Eres
more
effective against both Ere and Elementals). If Moses is interrupted before
or
while he is throwing the spear into the ground, the attack will be
canceled.
Witch Dragon
TP Used: 40
Compound: The spirit of a dragon erupts from below. Best against Ere.
He throws a spear into the ground, and a single, translucent dragon head
springs from below an enemy, knocking it down. Does not work well against
some
big enemies, such as Dragons.
Rotting Tiger
TP Used: 40
Compound: The spirit of a tiger erupts from below. Best against Eryngi.
Moses throws a spear into the ground, and a tiger's silhouette (the same
one
that appears when Chloe performs Tiger Blade) accompanied by yellow clouds
comes out of the ground, and knocks down enemies in a fairly large area.
Bird of Prey
TP Used: 40
Compound: The spirit of a falcon erupts from below. Best against Peepits.
Moses throws the spear into the ground, and three birds spring from under
the
enemy. They are pretty quick, so they can usually hit the Peepits. Does not
always knock down bigger enemies.
Elemental Storm
TP Used: 40
Compound: The spirit of a lion erupts from below. Best against Elementals.
Spear is thrown into ground; three lion heads appear under the enemy-the
largest one goes straight up and knocks the enemy down, while the other two
go
left and right respectively, hitting any other enemies.
Phoenix Scramble
TP Used: 40
Compound: The spirit of a phoenix erupts from below. Best against Eggtopi.
Looks very similar to Bird of Prey, only two red birds spring up; before
which
two tiny explosions knock down enemies.
Gryphon Shot
TP Used: 40
Compound: The spirits of wyrms erupt from below. Best against Phynxes.
After Moses throws his spear into the ground, three small explosions knock
enemies down, as small translucent dragons fly away. The dragons home into
other enemies, damaging all around the target.

2.d Jay
+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+
=+=
Jay, using a dagger, is a very short-range fighter. Although many of his
techniques are quick and deadly, he also has a lot of slowly activated
elemental Eres at his disposal. Although he is very good as an all-out,
front-
lines fighter, the computer controls Jay as a more supporting, conservative
fighter. Either one is fine-it's up to you to decide how Jay should be
controlled.
Dagger
First Eres learned
TP Used: 13
Base: Throw an exploding dagger.
Even though Dagger is his first ability, I believe that this is one of
Jay's
best as well. It has the same range as Demon Fist, only it's very powerful-
about twice as much as one of his normal attacks. The explosion also knocks
most enemies back, and you can easily link it to his combos.
Pyre
First Eres learned
TP used: 13
Base: Cause an explosion under the enemy. A. ATR.: Fire
Jay sticks his dagger in the ground and concentrates. After a couple of
seconds, fire burst from the ground, and the dagger flies back into Jay's
hand. Although Pyre is plenty powerful, and has an elemental attribute, it
is
extremely slow to activate. Not to mention that because it's so slow,
enemies
can dodge it without even trying.
Ice Storm
Level 27
TP Used: 14
Base: Call up ice under the enemy. A. ATR.: Ice
Basically the same as Pyre, only instead of an explosion, Jay calls up a
mini-
Ice Wall.
Ghost Blade
Level 30
TP Used: 15
Base: Temporarily raise speed.
Speed is generally pretty useful (especially compared to accuracy), so
Ghost
Blade is a handy ability to have around. Go ahead and use it at the
beginning
of any battle.
Silent Reaper
Level 33
TP Used: 17
Base: Cut through the enemy without a sound. A. ATR.: Curse
Sort of like Shadow Rush, only Jay actually goes past the enemy. Remember
that
it's Curse elemental, so use it wisely.
Brutal Earth
Level 36
TP Used: 18
Base: Call up stone under the enemy. A. ATR.: Earth
Like Pyre, only it calls up a Stone Blast under the enemy.
Merciless Thunder
Level 39
TP Used: 19
Base: Call up lightning under the enemy. A. ATR.: Lightning
Another parallel to Pyre, only with lightning.
Shadow Blade
Level 42
TP Used: 20
Base: Create a shadow that stops the enemy. A. ATR.: Curse
Jay slashes the enemy, and a shadow appears, very briefly stunning the
enemy.
Not really much of a use. Be careful of the Curse element.
Dark Cloud
Level 45
TP Used: 21
Base: Down the enemy with a quick slide and a final hit.
Jay looks kinda goofy when he performs Dark Cloud. He slides forward, then
does a hand stand kick, knocking them down.
Ill Wind
Level 49
TP Used: 23
Base: Blades of wind slice the enemy.
Jay spins his dagger around; after which, multiple blades of air slash at
the
enemy.
Falcon
Level 53
TP Used: 25
Base: Throw an exploding dagger from mid-air.
Like Dagger, only he does it in mid-air. Less accurate than Dagger, more TP
wasted.
Crow Blade
Level 57
TP Used: 26
Base: Jump up and stomp on the enemy's head.
Basically like Talon Strike, only much higher, and with only one, powerful
hit. TP pricey.
Sparrow Hawk
Level 67
TP Used: 30
Base: Unleash a handstand windmill kick.
Jay goes through a really long chain of kicks (which looks a lot like break
dancing). Although good for combos, not always reliable; there are some
pauses
where he's not attacking the enemy, and he can be interrupted.
Wraith Earth
Master Brutal Earth and Ghost Blade
TP Used: 17
Arcane: Call up powerful stones from under the enemy. A. ATR: Earth
Wraith Earth is basically just Brutal Earth, only the stones that are
called
up are much bigger and more powerful.
Wraith Ice
Master Ice Storm and Ghost Blade
TP Used: 20
Arcane: Call up powerful ice from under the enemy. A. ATR: Ice
It's the same concept with Wraith Ice as is with Wraith Earth; the ice
called
up looks like Grune's Absolute spell.
Hawk Talon
Master Dagger and Sparrow Hawk
TP Used: 21
Arcane: A combination of Sparrow Hawk & Dagger.
Just like Sparrow Hawk alone, Hawk Talon has the annoying tendency to be
constantly interrupted by enemies. Oftentimes, he never gets a chance to
throw
the dagger at the end of the ability, since he is often attacked during the
long pause before said dagger.
Flame Dagger
Master Dagger and Pyre
TP Used: 23
Arcane: A combination of Pyre & Dagger. A. ATR: Fire
No different than if Jay had cast Dagger, then Pyre successively. As
always,
Pyre takes a long time to activate.
Silent Pyre
Master Pyre and Silent Reaper
TP Used: 24
Arcane: A combination of Silent Reaper & Pyre. A. ATR: Fire (Not Curse)
Although I sometimes cast Pyre ahead of an enemy, hoping that the enemy
will
run into it, the Silent Reaper that precedes Pyre disallows that. Also, if
Jay
goes past the enemy, then the Pyre he casts will simply miss, unless the
enemy
moves backwards.
Silent Lightning
Master Silent Reaper and Merciless Thunder
TP Used: 26
Arcane: A combination of Silent Reaper & Pyre. A. ATR: Lightning
Same concept as Silent Pyre.
Shadow Reaper
Master Silent Reaper and Shadow Blade
TP Used: 29
Arcane: A combination of Shadow Blade & Silent Reaper
Since Shadow Blade stops the enemy, and Silent Reaper moves Jay past it,
Shadow Reaper is a good, if sneaky, Eres. Remember that it's still Curse
elemental.
Dark Wind
Master Ill Wind and Dark Cloud
TP Used: 38
Arcane: A combination of Dark Cloud & Ill Wind.
If done properly, Dark Wind is quite powerful. However, Dark Cloud has a
tendency to overshoot the enemy if it's too close, so be sure to be at the
right distance when using.
FIRST SLOT SECOND SLOT OUTCOME
Dagger + Ice Storm = Fallen Idol
+ Brutal Earth = Arachne Shot
Ghost Blade + Pyre = Brimstone Plague
+ Silent Reaper = Tragic Gale
Dark Cloud + Shadow Blade = Shield Blast
Crow Blade + Ill Wind = Demon Seal
THIRD SLOT
+ Merciless Thunder = Lowers resistance to Lightning
+ Falcon = Lowers resistance to Ice
+ Sparrow Hawk = Lowers resistance to Sea
+ Wraith Earth = Lowers resistance to Earth
+ Wraith Ice = Lowers resistance to Ice
+ Hawk Talon = Lowers resistance to Fire
+ Flame Dagger = Lowers resistance to Fire
+ Silent Pyre = Lowers resistance to Curse
+ Silent Lightning = Lowers resistance to Lightning
+ Shadow Reaper = Lowers resistance to Curse
+ Dark Wind = No added effect
As you can clearly see, all of Jay's added effects lower an enemy's
resistance
to an element. Although it doesn't seem to be much, it can be useful to
make
enemies more susceptible to magic, or to make Jay's elemental abilities to
do
more damage.
Fallen Idol
TP Used: 40
Compound: Destroy the enemy with one hit after another. Best against
Humans.
Jay performs Dark Cloud, then Sparrow hawk while the enemy is in the air,
then
Crow Blade to knock them down.
Arachne Shot
TP Used: 40
Compound: Launch the enemy up and kick it down. Best against Dandarantulas.
Jay hits the enemy, then sticks a dagger in the ground, like in Pyre. A
rainbow pillar of light knocks the enemy into the air.
Brimstone Plague
TP Used: 40
Compound: Call forth mystical energy. Best against Hoppers & Hopperflies.
Jay sticks a dagger in the ground, concentrates (for a rather long
time...),
and a mist knocks enemies into the air. If he is interrupted before the
mist
surrounds him, then the attack will be canceled.
Tragic Gale
TP Used: 40
Compound: Slice the enemy with blinding speed. Best against Zephyrs.
Jay does Shadow Blade, then four consecutive back-and-forth Silent Reapers,
the last knocking any enemies in its wake down.
Shield Blast
TP Used: 40
Compound: Toy with the enemy, then blow it up. Best against Gelures
Shields.
Silent Reaper leads into Shadow Blade, and Jay performs Crow Blade;
launching
him above the enemy. He throws an exploding dagger straight down, which
knocks
down enemies.
Demon Seal
TP Used: 40
Compound: Stop the enemy and rain daggers down.
Jay performs Ill Wind; while the enemy is being hit by the Wind, Jay jumps
above them, and throws seven spread daggers below him; knocking down any
enemies.

Will is the first person Senel meets on the Legacy. Although he uses a
hammer
as a weapon, his physical attacks are slow and weak. Since in the beginning
he
is the only character that can use healing Eres, he is immensely useful;
however, this dies as soon as the other characters learn their own, more
powerful Eres. Will's Eres are generally slower, and a bit mediocre
sometimes.
However, out of all the characters, his base intelligence is highest.
Lightning
First Eres learned
TP Used: 7
Novice: Strike the enemy with a bolt of lightning. A. ATR.: Lightning
Very plain, bolt of lightning. Nothing extravagant.
First Aid
First Eres learned
TP Used: 7
Healing: Heal an ally.
Your first, and for a long time, only healing Eres. Heals about as much as
an
apple gel.
Stone Blast
Level 5
Egg Bear: 15
Peepit Chick: 23
TP Used: 9
Novice: Launch stones from below the enemy. A. ATR.: Earth
Your first Earth elemental Eres. Stones rise up from beneath, doing about
three hits.
Fire Ball
Level 8
Lizardman: 69
Peepit: 61
TP Used: 12
Novice: Unleash fireballs on the enemy. A. ATR.: Fire
Three fireballs from above home in on an enemy.
Antishield
Level 11
Egg Bear Cub: 46
Eggtopus: 188
TP Used: 15
Support: Temporarily decrease an enemy's DEF.
All the support Eres are pretty self-explanatory.
Ice Arrows
Level 14
Ere: 183
Element: 114
TP Used: 17
Novice: Pierce the enemy with multiple needles of ice. A. ATR.: Ice
Basically a mini-Freeze Lancer. Several icicles warp in and attack an

Recover
Level 17
Peepit Chick: 169
Eryngi: 193
TP Used: 20
Healing: Heal an ally's Status Effect.
Immensely helpful, especially when you run into Hoppers and other enemies
that
cause status effects. You won't want to use all your Panacea Bottles, so
use
Recover as often as possible.
Shield
Level 20
Lizardman: 212
Hopper: 49
TP Used: 23
Support: Temporarily raise an ally's DEF.
Spread
Level 23
Lizardman: 428
Gelures Sword: 117
TP Used: 25
Mid: Drop pillars of water from above. A. ATR.: Sea
Spread is Will's first mid-level offensive magic (as you see, the camera
zooms
in on him when he casts it). A pillar of water appears rather
instantaneously,
and hits enemies three times, knocking them down.
Freeze Lancer
Level 26
Megant: 523
Phynx: 226
TP Used: 28
Mid: Unleash spears of ice on the enemy. A. ATR.: Ice
A portal appears above an enemy, and large spears of ice rain home in. They
move a little slow, so if an enemy is quick enough (like a Gelures Shield),
it
might miss.
Flame Blade
Level 29
Egg Bear: 435
Gelures Shield: 134
TP Used: 31
Mid: Slash the enemy with a sword of fire. A. ATR.: Fire
A red flurry surrounds the enemy, and slashes at it six times.
Thunder Blade
Level 32
Galf: 672
Diva: 150
TP Used: 33
Mid: Slash the enemy with a sword of lightning. A. ATR.: Lightning
A large blade of lightning appears, draws back, and slashes down. It takes
a
second to hit, but it rarely misses, since it has a fairly wide range.
Indignation
Level 35
Mimic Bed: 265
Eggtopus: 445
TP Used: 36
High: Call down powerful lightning from the sky. A. ATR.: Lightning
"Brilliant vanguard of the heavens, cry havoc and with your wrath leave my
enemies to their doom..."
Will's first High-level Eres. A yellow circle appears under an enemy, and a
large bolt of lightning strikes for several seconds. Any enemy in the
circle
is struck and knocked down.
Cure
Level 38
Egg Bear: 499
Dragon: 245
TP Used: 39
Healing: Heal an ally completely.
Sort of the ultimate healing technique. It takes a little time to cast, so
refrain in battle unless you have some time. Otherwise, stick to First Aid.
Icicle Volt
Level 41
Phynx: 899
Dragon: 400
TP Used: 42
High: Freeze the enemy and call down lightning. A. ATR.: Ice
"A foolish soul entombed in Death's chill grasp and rent by its teeth of
lightning..."
Although it might seem otherwise, Icicle Volt is only Ice elemental (at
least
I'm pretty sure. Please, correct me if I'm wrong). A large block of ice
falls
on an enemy, and all that is left is an icicle in the ground, which shocks
the
enemy.
Antishelter
Level 44
Zephyr: 700
Mini-Automaton: 600
TP Used: 44
Support: Temporarily decrease all enemies' DEF.
(NOTE: Don't worry if you didn't get enough Mini-Automaton Eres stones in
the
main quest. You will encounter them again in the character quests).
Shelter
Level 47
Galf: 672
Hill Angler: 800
TP Used: 47
Support: Temporarily increase all allies' DEF.
Eruption
Level 50
Automaton: 239
Hill Angler: 1375
TP Used: 50
High: Call up red-hot lava from beneath the earth. A. ATR.: Fire
"Fiery malevolence who dwelleth in deepest earth, linger not to savor their
suffering; Burn..."
Magma rises from under an enemy, dealing about four hits. Has a pretty wide
range, and knocks most enemies into the air.
Final Embrace
Level 54
Hopper: 800
Mimic Bed: 868
TP Used: 53
High: Bury the enemy in a coffin made of ice. A. ATR.: Ice
"Maiden of ice who sleepeth in silent forests, grace my enemies with your
pure smile and offer them thy bosom..."
A snowflake appears over an enemy, and flurries of ice attack it, actually
dealing only three hits.
Black Hole
Level 58
Diva: 1133
Hopper: 1053
TP Used: 57
High: Call forth a darkness that devours even light. A. ATR.: Curse
"Lightless tempest from distant regions, stretch out thy tenebrous arms and
lead my enemies to their eternal slumber..."
Just like a pumped up Bloody Howling. A black hole appears (quite
literally),
and attacks enemies in a wide area about seven times; knocking all down on
the
last hit.
Extension
Level 62
Base Turtle: 1461
Mandrake: 850
TP Used: 60
High: Obliterate an enemy with its weak element.
"O, correlate born in the depths of nothing, abandon your mundane form and
become annihilation incarnate..."
It takes a ridiculous time to activate; an aura surrounds where an enemy
stands, and solidifies into a blast that has the element of an enemy's
weakness (non-elemental if the enemy has no weakness). Takes about four
seconds to activate, and by that time the enemy probably walked out of
range
of the aura. Go ahead and use it to your pleasure on Mandrakes or humongous
enemies.
Shooting Stars
Level 66
Galf: 929
Lizardman: 1128
TP Used: 64
High: Rain stars down on the enemy. A. ATR.: Ice
"O celestial voyagers faster and brighter than the Gods, rain down and
purify
this wretched soul..."
A star appears in the sky, and from that star rain three paths of smaller
stars, that rain down and cross paths at the enemy. Has about eleven hits,
so
it's great for combos; however, it is possible for an enemy to dodge.
Big Bang
Level 70
Megant: 2205
Grand Gaet: 1097
TP Used: 68
High: Call forth the biggest explosion of all time. ATR.: Fire
"Primordial illumination, the fount of life for all things, roar forth this
once, and show us thy power..."
An aura appears that look similar to Extension, and an enormous explosion
knocks down enemies; if that one didn't knock them down, a second one
attacks
any other monsters left. Activates much quicker than Extension, but be
aware
that it is Fire elemental, so it won't work well on everybody.

3.b Norma Beatty

To be frank, Norma really sucks when you first get her. She only knows one
Eres, Grave, and does not know any healing Eres. Also, her HP is
horrendously
low (this unfortunately does not change). However, later on, she becomes
even
more useful than Will; once she learns the right abilities.
Grave
First Eres Learned
TP Used: 9
Novice: Call forth stone from below the enemy. ATR.: Earth
A single stone rises up under the enemy. Not all-powerful or anything.
Fire Wall
Level 8 (?)
Galf: 30
Eggtopus: 50
TP Used: 12
Novice: Call forth a wall of fire below the enemy. ATR.: Fire
Very much similar to Grave, only with fire.
Ice Wall
Level 11
Egg Bear: 90
Eryngi: 63
TP Used: 15
Novice: Call forth ice from below the enemy. ATR.: Ice
Grave + Ice.
Taunt
Level 14
Egg Bear: 130
Eggtopus: 218
TP Used: 18
Support: Temporarily lower an enemy's ATK.
Rally
Level 17
Base Turtle: 94
Eggtopus: 304
TP Used: 20
Support: Temporarily raise an ally's ATK.
Thunder Arrow
Level 20
Megant: 254
Dandarantula: 34
TP Used: 23
Mid: Bolts of lightning course through the enemies.
The first Mid-level Crystal Eres you receive. A triangular force-field of
lightning surrounds an enemy, and three bolts of lightning strike.
Silence
Level 23
Ere: 447
Peepit: 101
TP Used: 26
Support: Seal an enemy's Eres.
Sealed Eres is always very handy; however, it doesn't always work. It never
hurts to give it a try, though. (A more sure-fire way to seal an enemy's
Eres
is to use one of Moses' compound Eres, which almost always work).
Revive
Level 26
Lizardman: 418
Gelures Sword: 37
TP Used: 28
Healing: Heal all allies.
This is the sole reason why I think Norma is more useful than any other
healer. Sometimes, you just don't have the time to heal each character
individually; by the time Will casts two First Aids, No

1.) Introduction
===================
Howdy and welcome to my guide for Tales of Legendia. Ever since the
unexpected success of Tales of Symphonia in 2004, the Tales series has been
put on the map. Because of Tales of Symphonia, a lot of people started
playing the other Tales games, most noteably Tales of Phantasia.
I honestly had no idea that Tales of Legendia was supposed to be released as
soon as it was until my friend, Kevin (who also bought me a copy of Koudelka)
pointed it out to me. Since I liked Tales of Symphonia, I decided to go to
my Gamestop today, and pick up a copy. With my copy, I got a free artbook.
This guide is going to be a work in progress. For those of you that have
read my previous guides, I'm only going to focus on the main walkthrough
itself before adding in any of the sub sections. I would appreciate it if
you wouldn't send me any e-mails asking me any questions in the game until
the walkthrough itself is finished. One last thing, do NOT send me any
e-mails telling me to hurry up and finish this guide or badmouth me for not
finishing it quickly enough. I WILL post e-mail addresses of those people,
so please be patient. Thank you.

3.) Characters
===================
Note: All of the information in this section is from the artbook that I
recieved when I bought ToL.
Name: Senel Coolidge
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Height: 5'7"
Weight: 130 lbs
Weapon: Bracers (Gauntlets, knuckles, etc.)
Occupation: Marine Trooper (Coastal patrol force that protects sea traffic
from pirates and monstesr.)
-Senel is a young martial artist and master of iron eres. He is also a
talented sailor and swimmer, thanks to his work in the Marines of the Holy
Alliance, where he helps maintain the safety of the oceans from the monsters
that love there. He has a strong will, and prefers action over words, causing
many people to think that he is cold and uncaring.
---------
Name: Shirley Fennes
Gender: Female
Age: 15
Height: 5'1"
Weight: 90 lbs
Weapon: Pen (Quill used for spell casting, etc.)
Occupation: None
-Shirley is Senel's sister, two years younger than he. She is constantly
trying to protect her brother from the dangers that his puts him in. She has
a unique body chemistry, however, that causes her to fall ill should she come
into contact with salty sea wind or water. Normally she is calm and quiet,
giving those around her an impression that she is frail. At the same time,
though, she can be quite stubborn, and once she has decided upon a course
of action, it is almost impossible to change her mind about it.
---------
Name: Will Raynard
Gender: Male
Age: 28
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 168 lbs
Weapon: Hammer (War hammer)
Occupation: Sheriff (originally a natural historian)
-Will is the first person that Senel meets when he comes to the Legacy. Will
is a user of crystal eres. In his role as the sheriff of Werites Beacon, a
town on the Legacy, he has earned the love and respect of many people, but he
insists that he is just a natural historian. He has an excellent ability for
leadership and decision making, and as the eldest person in the party he is
sometimes strict and sometimes kind, gaining him the trust of the others. Yet
it seems he also has a weak spot...
---------
Name: Chloe Valens
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 108 lbs
Weapon: Sword (Broadsword)
Occupation: Knight
-Chloe is a young woman who uses iron eres and an unnaturally deft blade. The
name of the House of Valens is well known even among other kingdoms as a once
noble family of proud knights. Perhaps due to her feelings of duty to carry
on that tradition, she always forces herself to walk the true path of a
knight. Nonetheless, she has an inner side that is cute and feminine, like
the young lady that she is.
---------
Name: Norma Beatty
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Height: 5'2"
Weight: 95 lbs
Weapon: Straw (Bubble blowers)
Occupation: Treasure Hunter
-Norma is a young treasure hunter that Senel meets during his adventure. She
is a user of crystal eres. She is cheerful and loves jokes, and is constantly
drawing laughter by making fun both of those around her and of herself. At
times, however, she makes very insightful comments that show just how clearly
she sees events, and that she is a person to be reckoned with. She likes to
create nicknames for people that only she uses.
---------
Name: Moses Sandor
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 140 lbs
Weapon: Spear (Always carries several spears, permitting rapid throws.)
Occupation: Bandit Chief
-Moses uses iron eres and wields a spear in battle. He comes from a tribe
of beast tamers, and he himself is the master of a galf (a type of beast)
named Giet. On the Legacy, he is notorious as the boss of a group of bandits,
and his many henchmen make trouble throughout the ship. While his appearance
is one of barbarity, he is actually quite humane and responsible.
Surprisingly, he is also quickly moved to tears.
---------
Name: Jay
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Height: 5'1"
Weight: 104 lbs
Weapon: Dagger (Single-edged dagger)
Occupation: Information Dealer
-Jay is a young man who uses iron eres, and tends to appear and disappear
without notice. He is always coolly watching the situation from one step
away. He is especially good at imformation analysis, and therefore often
finds work as a strategic advisor. His tendency to let fly with cynical
remarks about those around him make for a less-than-socially-acceptable
personality. However, it seems that there are some to whom he will show his
younger, boyish side.
---------
Name: Grune
Gender: Female
Age: ?
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 117 lbs
Weapon: Jar (Not your average jar...)
Occupation: Unknown
-Grune is a woman shrouded in mystery. She uses crystal eres. Never swayed
by circumstances, she has the amazing ability to bring a feeling of peace and
well-being to all those around her. She has lost her memory, recalling only
her own name, but she still keeps in high spirits and has a smile on her face
at all times. Never distraught, never emotional, she may be the most fearless
member of the group.
===================
4.) Basics
===================
Here are the basic elements in Tales of Legendia.
---------
BATTLES
---------
-Like in all RPGs, you're bound to fight a random battle eventually, and Tales
of Legendia is no different. Like the other Tales game, the battle system for
Tales of Legendia is real-time. However, unlike Tales of Symphonia, you no
longer get to choose your own battles, but instead you are treated with random
encounters. The random encounters don't happen enough to make you frustrated,
but tend to activate a lot.
---------
ATTACKING
---------
-Like in all RPGs, you need to attack to win battles, whether it's physical
or magic attacks. Tales of Legendia has two attacks; normal, and special
attacks, or Ere attacks. The X button unleashes a normal attack which can hit
up to three times for certain characters if you press the X button three
times, and the Circle button (with specified direction) unleashes an Ere
attack that consumes SP, but is more powerful than a normal attack.
---------
GUARDING
---------
-Guarding is a key thing to use during battles if you want to keep safe.
Pressing and holding the Square button will bring your character to their
guard, and if you press left or right (depending on the direction you're
facing) while guarding, you'll slowly step backwards to avoid any danger.
---------
EXPERIENCE
---------
-After every battle, you gain experience points. The more experience points
you gain, the more levels you'll obtain. You can view to see how many more
experience points a character needs to get to the next level on the menu
screen, which you can open by pressing the Triangle button on the field map.
---------
GRADE
---------
-You obtain GRADE after every battle. Depending on your actions and the end
results of battles, you may either get Positive GRADE, or Negative GRADE.
Simple things such as blocking attacks and being damaged by enemies effect
your GRADE.
---------
GALD
---------
-You obtain Gald after battles have been won, or you may find Gald in treasure
chests throughout the entire game. You need Gald in order to purchase items,
weapons, and armor.
---------
COOKING
---------
-In Tales of Symphonia, you were able to cook anywhere except in battles.
Cooking is back in Tales of Legendia, but however, there's a catch. The only
time you can cook anything is when you reach a bakery, and there's an oven
available. This is the only way to bake the several breads you come across
in your journey.
---------
CLIMAX
---------
-Probably the most important feature in the game, a little meter near the
bottom of the screen builds up as you attack enemies. Once it gets full,
pressing L1 will activate Climax mode, where all the enemies freeze and become
defenselss until the meter runs out. If you also have 4 characters in your
party, pushing L1 again will activate a Climax combo, doing some heavy damage.
===================
5.) Walkthrough
===================
Note: This guide will assume that you're playing as Senel. Also, this guide
may contain spoilers, so read at your own risk.
Before you start playing, I'd recommend watching the opening anime movie.
The musical score is nice, and the scenes are just as nice.
Once you select New Game, you'll be thrown into the action. You'll see Senel
and Shirley on a boat with some rough waves coming and going against the boat.
After some talking, an enemy will come board the ship, and you'll be in your
first fight.
This battle isn't hard. This battle mainly gives you a chance to play around
with the battle features and let's you get accustomed to them. When you're
ready, rush in and just do some normal attacks on it, or if you want, mix in
a couple of normal attacks with Demon Fist to finish it off quickly.
Once the battle is over, an anime cutscene will occur, and a huge object
appears in front of Senel's ship, and the ship is sent flying through the
waters. You'll then land on the island, Legacy. A pillar of light will form,
and a mysterious man will make an appearance.
After the scene, you'll find that enemy you fought on the ship going torwards
that mysterious man, and you'll find Senel by Shirleys side as he heals her
in the spring.
Another man comes along, and nags at Senel, claiming that Shirley is going to
drown. After some more talking, the mysterious man appears and you're left
to fight him.
You can't win this fight, nor lose it. You'll both deal low damage to each
other. After awhile, Shirley will let out a scream and the battle will end.
A bandit with a face plate covering his left side of his face abducts Shirley
and runs off. The mysterious man grows wings and chases after them. The
other man introduces himself as Will, and then Will and Senel run off after
Shirley.

O-----------------------O
(CH1)
==============
FALLINGWATER
==============
Once you gain control, run down the path and up the small set of stairs to
the left to find a chest. You'll also find a save point here. Step on it and
save your game.
Continue down the path and you'll trigger another scene where a pig is on the
ground, but suddenly changed into a woman who introduces herself as Mimi.
Just like the Wonder Chef in Tales of Symphonia, Mimi will give you bread
recipies for you to make in bakeries across the world. Once in control,
continue down the path for another scene, and Will will (haha) ask Senel a
question. Will will explain why people are after Shirley. Once in control,
keep following the linear path until you reach a fork. Take the path that
has the stairs and open the chest here. Go back down the stairs and continue
left to go to the next screen.
You'll run into another chest and a blue icon that refills your HP and TP if
you examine it. Keep going to find yet another chest, and if you keep going
down the path, you'll find yet another chest. Further more down the path
lies another chest. Keep treading this path and you'll finally reach town.
==============
WERITES BEACON
==============
Will will (man that's getting annoying) will tell Senel about the lighthouse
at the top. A townsfolk will come in and ask Will to follow him. Once in
control, go ahead and check out the map of the town to the right of you. The
red icons indicate the equipment shops, whereas the blue icon indicates where
the bakery is, and the yellow icon shows where the item store is.
Use the save point and head to the south until you come across a huge house.
You can't go in it yet, but if you explore the yard, you'll find a treasure
chest. Keep going south and you'll eventually run into the bakery, item shop,
and weapon/armor shop. You can bake some Toast if you want, but it's not
recommended. If you want, you can buy a new weapon for Senel in the weapon
shop, the Power Wrist that adds 4 Attack to Senel's stats. However, it costs
700 Gald, so think carefully if you want it.
Once you're done here, start going north and keep going north until you reach
the fountain. You'll trigger a scene with an odd looking boy (yes, that's a
boy) who asks Senel if he's strong or not. Getting fed up with no answer,
the boy decides to say that whoever can beat him will win 50,000 Gald, but
puts the blame on Senel. The villagers gather around Senel, but back off once
they learn that he can use Eres.
Soon, a very odd couple will come in and start singing about justice and
things of that nature. One of them does a very very bad Elvis impersonation.
Senel, getting fed up with all the horsecrap going on, attacks the two. Will
then steps into the picture, and blasts Senel to knock him out.
Senel wakes up in a jailcell and learns that Will is the sheriff of the town,
but Will indicates he's just a natural historian. The old lady asks Senel
who Shirley is, and once Senel replies that she's his sister, the old lady
asks Will to let Senel free. The old lady asks Will to go with Senel, and
then brings up another person that Will seems to be familiar with. You've
just gained your first party member. Pop the cork and celebrate.
If you go up the stairs, you'll realize that you're in Will's house. There's
an oven here. Also, if you head upstairs and examine the bookshelves, you'll
run across an Apple Gummy. Other than that, there's nothing to do here.
As you leave the house, the old lady will come out after you and give a world
map to Will. After that's done, head to the south to exit the town. Once
on the world map, Will tells you about ducts.
From here, head north to find a small cottage.
==============
COUNTRY COTTAGE
==============
Talk to the man standings by the table. He'll give you some information on
battles and other aspects of the game. There's a save point in here also.
Exit the Cottage and head back to Werites. From Werites, head a bit south
to find another place of interest.
==============
PORT-ON-RAGE
==============
Not much to do here, but there are a few treasure chests for you to get. Run
around and get them all (the paths are very linear). Once you get them, exit.
To reach our destination, go back to Werites, and head northeast to find the
Misty Mountains.
==============
MISTY MOUNTAINS
==============
As you venture in, you'll notice a huge black blob like field, and once you
get close to it, a scene will trigger. What those fields do, is they pretty
much increase the random encounter rate in them, and the enemies inside of
them are stronger. However, the fields themselves aren't very large, and
there are usually treasure chests at the end of the field. If you got a few
levels before venturing into the Misty Mountains, then you shouldn't have too
much trouble with the fight here.
I'd recommend going for the chests. If you want to, go through the first
black field and grab the chest at the end. Continue up the path through
another field for another chest. Keep following the path until you reach the
top where a purple chest resides. Open it for some Hard Leather and go to
the right to enter the next screen. Save your game here and advance to the
next screen.
You'll come across a scene with a young woman on the bridge atop of you.
After some talking, she'll cut the bridge in half, land near you, and think
that you're with the bandits, and suddenly attack you.
This is a scripted battle. You can neither win or lose. Just attack her, but
don't waste TP or items. After awhile, the battle will come to a halt. After
some more talking, the bandits will find you and the three of you will
retreat. The young woman will run away as you and Will hide.
Once in control, head down to grab a chest, and then go back up. From your
starting point, head to the left and down a bit to find another black field.
Go through it and down to the next screen for another chest. Head back up
and go north and you'll eventually reach a save point. Go south from it to
find a paper crane lying on the ground. Examine it to find Mimi again. After
the scene, you'll learn how to make a Ham Sammich... I mean Sandwichs.
Continue north and around the bridges. Follow this path until you reach the
world map.
On the world map, follow the dirt path as it bends around the corner until
you find another duct. Use the Duct to return to Werites Beacon if you need
any items or if you need to heal. If you don't, enter the Bandits Lair.
==============
BANDITS LAIR
==============
Once you enter, you'll encounter a scene with Moses (gotta love the southern
accent). Senel will run at Moses in frustration, but only winds up falling
through a trap door.
You'll be by yourself for a bit, so hopefully you've gotten the basic battle
skills down. Once you regain control, open the chest near you for an Apple
Gel. Continue down the path and trot through the black field (don't worry
about being attacked in them, most of them only contain one enemy usually)
for a chest. Go back down and keep going through another black field for
another chest containing 800 Gald.
Continue until you reach the next screen, where a scene will trigger. Senel
will slowly make his way across the floor, and after a bit, he'll bump into
someone. Well wouldn't you know it, it's that female at the Misty Mountains.
Soon, Will comes running down the path and finds you. After some talking,
you'll have control again. Go up and take the stairs you come across up.
Another scene will activate, with the identity of the female known. Her name
is Chloe. A scene with Moses and Shirley also starts up. Moses explains he
kidnapped her was because he wants the most powerful Eres that has the power
to move mountains. Shirley claims she has no idea what he's talking about,
and one of Moses' men will rush into the room.
Once you regain control, trot through the black field to find another chest
containing Leather Boots. Continue down the path until you can go up some
more stairs. You'll be near the entrance. Go north from the trap door until
you find a huge wooden door. You can't use it yet, but it'll come into play
soon. Go left from the door and up the stairs.
Moses will greet you and go running off after having his little fun. Chase
after him through the duct, but Will claims there's something funny about the
duct. Well, only one way to find out. Jump in, press X, and awayyy we go!
You'll find yourself in a strange green room. This is called a Puzzle Booth.
Will explains the main idea of a puzzle room, and how to reset a puzzle room
if you somehow screw yourself over.
This particular puzzle room is very easy. The blocks you can grab and pull
have little shining indicators at the top. Grab the block by the stairs and
pull it out, and then up and to the left until you push it into the gap. Make
your way across. The other block is by the exit duct. Pull it out and push
it into the other gap. Climb the stairs and go across it and use the duct to
exit. Simple, wasn't it?
You'll find the room Shirley is in, and Senel tries to break it down with his
fists. Of course, since Metal beats fists, Senel hurts himself in the
process. Seems we need to find the key, but Moses most likely has the key.
Use the save point and head to the left and go through the door here to find
Moses and Giet. Moses will provoke you to come and get the key. Well, since
asking nicely most likely won't work, we'll need to take it by force.
-----------------------------
O------------O
| MOSES |
O------------O----------O
| HIT POINTS | 2194 |
O------------O----------O
O------------O
| GIET |
O------------O----------O
| HIT POINTS | 2852 |
O------------O----------O
-This is going to be a tough fight if you have no clue on what you're doing.
Giet will rush across the screen most of the time, whereas Moses likes to
keep his distance and throw spears at you. However, since Giet is a lot
faster than Moses, Giet is the bigger threat, so try to focus all your attacks
on Giet. Using a three hit attack with a Base Eres and Arcane Eres should
link up a nice combo. Try to keep Giet away from Will as you attack him with
your best Eres attacks. If you can corner both Giet and Moses, use a Climax
to deal some good damage. If not, just keep yourself healed and make sure
to use Guard. Guard is essential in this fight. Just keep your health up
and you should win.
-----------------------------
After the fight is over, you'll get the key after some talking. Go back to
the locked door, and you'll see that mysterious man from earlier snagging
Shirley and flying away. You'll then see a mysterious woman outside the lair,
attempting to invade it. Moses runs off and you're left with his pal offering
to show you the rear exit of the lair.
Remember that huge wooden door you couldn't use earlier? Backtrack to that
and a scene will trigger. The man will explain where you should go next, the
Crystal Forest.
After that's done, one last scene happens with Moses challenging the
mysterious woman. You're then on the world map. Save your game and head
straight north (12 o' clock) until you reach the Crystal Forest.
==============
CRYSTAL FOREST
==============
Once you enter the forest, you'll find a young girl being chased by some kind
of odd looking creature. Will explains what the creature is, and that it's
usually a tame creature that normally doesn't attack unless its nest is being
robbed or poked around at.
Once in control, go left to find a chest and then go back and take the other
direction until you come across some black fields. Cross through them and
grab the chests on the other side. Keep following the path until you reach
the next screen. Head left for a few more chests and continue north and go
left once you get the chance and you'll eventually reach a save point. Follow
the path north and you'll run into that young woman again. Seems like that
big old crystal monster thing has its eye on you. Let's give him a good show.

-This boss isn't as challenging as Moses and Giet, but if you're not careful,
you could find yourself in a tight spot. If you get too close to him, he'll
grab you and bind you, damaging you quite heavily before dropping you to the
ground, so try not to melee for too long. If you have your Climax meter
filled up, then by all means, use it. Just avoid being caught in its pincers
and you'll come out victorious.
-----------------------------
The girl will introduce herself as Norma Beatty. She's been looking for Eres
users, since she thinks Eres users and treasure hunters are a good mix.
She'll offer you to join with her, but you decide to just ignore her and
continue on.
Go down after the fight to find another chest. Head back up and follow the
path for another chest. Keep going north to find another chest and keep
following the path until you reach the next screen.
You'll reach a deadend where you can't advance past the wall. A ladder would
probably would solve the problem, but it seems that the ladder is broken.
Norma steps forward, and unleashes some magic to break the crystal glass, and
Will smacks her over the head. After the scene, you'll get the Collector's
Book and Will recieves a new title.
There are a few more chests to get before leaving, so go back down once you
regain control to grab them then go through the new opened passage. Follow
the path and you'll eventually reach the world map.
You may notice a cottage here, but you can't enter it yet. To reach our
next destination, follow the coast to the east to find the Secret Passage.
There's a duct outside of it, so if you need to go back to Werites Beacon, do
so. Once you're ready, enter.
==============
SECRET PASSAGE
==============
Once you enter, you'll find the mysterious man and Shirley. The man makes the
door opens and heads insides with Shirley. Baffled, Senel and the others
ponder what happened until Norma brings up she knows how to open the door.
Norma asks for their help, and the door suddenly opens.
Go down the stairs and to the left to find a chest. Go back and go down the
stairs some more and go through the black field for a Gladius. Continue on
until you reach the save point. Head to the next screen to find the man.
Some talking will occur, and a fight will ensue.
This is another scripted fight, so you can't win nor lose. Just keep fighting
and the battle will eventually end.
After the fight, the pillar starts to fall, and Shirley is in danger until the
man dives underneath the pillar and shoves Shirley out of the way. However,
he breaks through the pillar and flies off quickly. The way back is caved
in, but that shouldn't stop you from grabbing the four chests behind you.
Head up to the next screen and go through the black field for a chest and
continue down the path until you reach a duct. Take it for a puzzle booth.
You'll be introduced to the Sorcerer's Ring. Pushing R2 will shoot a ball of
light. You'll need to activate the duct in here by shooting a ball of light
off the reflector so it hits the Crystal. Do so, and arrange the blocks down
the stairs so that you can make a bridge over to the duct. It's pretty easy.
You'll trigger a scene with a strange otter named Pippo that will offer to
show you his old village. Let's take his offer, but get the chest to the
right of you first. Now go through the door. You'll see a big, empty place.
Pippo introduces you to his brother, Quppo. After some talking, you'll
gain control again.
There are a few treasure chests worth collecting here. All of them are easy
to find. Also make sure to examine the rotating statue to find Mimi again
and to learn a new recipe. Head to the northen parts to find a HP/TP refiller
and a save point. Make good use of this save point.
Exit and you'll find yourself in the second part of the Secret Passage.
Head down the path to find two chests. Go across the bridge for two more
chests guarded by a black field. Follow the path to find two more chests.
Cross this bridge and head south until you can go down to the next floor.
Go down the stairs onto the rails and south for two more chests. Now go north
and you'll find out this path has been sealed also, but the two otters suggest
digging their way out. Some talking occurs with Norma trying to take
Shirley's Brooch. Soon, a pathway has been opened.
This next part is pretty straight forward. Cross the bridges and go up and
down the stairs, grabbing the chests along the way until you reach the save
point. Save your game and head onto the next screen. Here, the earthquakes
will start again, and the otters will bring up the "Long Long Demon". It
spots you and decides to chase you. You'll soon reach a dead end, and Will,
Chloe, and Senel try to fend off the beast while Norma tries to open the door.
Shirley then steps forward, and the door suddenly disappears.
You'll head outside, and the door will close behind you. Now that's ove...
wait a second, seems like Mr. old Totem Pole look-a-like monster isn't done
with us yet. The sunlight will piss him off even more, and it's time for a
fight.

-This fight isn't all that hard. His attacks can hit you for decent damage,
but it's nothing you should have to worry about if your levels are in the
7-9 Range. Now that you have four people in your party, now's a good time to
test out the Climax Combo. Use the Climax mode first, and beat up on it for
a bit. Before the Climax meter runs out, press L1 again to activate the combo
to deal some serious damage. Once it gets low on health, it'll start using
a Field of Effect with Poison. Just don't let up with your attacks and you'll
win easily.
-----------------------------
Now that the enemy is down for the count, the otters do the victory dance,
and it's actually pretty cute. After the dance, Senel and Shirley recieve
Gemini Shells. While Will is busy studying the Dinowyrm, Senel and Shirley
take off down the path without anyone knowing.
You'll be fighting with only Senel again, but I'm sure you have the fighting
basics down by now. Follow the path for a chest and head through the black
fields for a Ringmail. Keep going for another chest and you'll eventually
find a heal point and a save point. Save your game and advance to the next
screen.
You'll run into the female soldier that was attacking the Bandits Lair. Soon,
some soldiers will run in behind Senel and Shirley, blocking them in, and a
fight occurs with Senel and Melanie.
You can't win this fight. After a minute or two, Melanie will cast Eruption,
knocking Senel out. Vaclav shows up, and Shirley begs for them not to hurt
Senel and offers to go with them peacefully. Of course, since this never
works in any RPG game, why should this one be any different? Vaclav gets one
of his men of the Terrors to throw Senel off the cliff.
==============
DOWN THE CLIFF
==============
Senel slowly floats down with a golden aura around him and softly lands on
the ground. Senel wakes up and spots a young girl named Harriet. Harriet
asks Senel to escort her into town. Grab the chests to your left and save
your game and head down. You'll trigger a scene with Shirley and a captive
in the other cell starting to talk. Soon, the first chapter comes to a close.

Harriet will ask you to bring her to Will's place. First, check out the
shops. They've stocked up on some new items, but nothing that important.
However, if you check the weapon/armor shop, examine the rotating plate on
the dresser to find Mimi again to learn another recipe.
Head for Will's house and you'll find Chloe and Will talking. Will and Chloe
then spot Senel and Harriet, and Harriet makes a break for it. Senel tells
them that Harriet thought Will and Chloe were lovers, and well... Chloe
doesn't take too kindly to that as she pops Senel right across the face.
Will explains the current situation, and brings up Jay the Unseen, one of the
best information people on the Legacy, if not the best. Chloe and Will team
up, and Senel wants in on the action, but Will quickly shuts him down, telling
Senel he can't be trusted. Head outside to find Norma and another scene.
Norma joins up with you. Norma suggests going to the fountain. So head all
the way north to find the fountain.
You'll run into two familiar faces. Curtis, and Isabella. Seems they're
ready to start a fight, but Norma tells them Senel's story and then they start
encouraging him, even offering him a spot with the Bouncers. Of course, Senel
doesn't really think that's a present. A scene will occur with Shirley and
the prisoner next to her. During the talking, someone walks into her cell and
she starts screaming. I don't even want to know.
Back to Senel, you'll find out Will and Chloe went to Port-on-Rage. Well,
looks like we know where to go now. Exit town, and head for Port-on-Rage.
You should remember where it is.
==============
PORT-ON-RAGE
==============
When you enter, you'll see Chloe, Will, and that familiar boy in the purple
outfit giving them a letter. Will then asks the boy to take him across the
sea to the meeting place for Jay the Unseen. Chloe and Will get on the boys
ship and set sail, leaving Norma and Senel behind. Luckily, a man offers you
to use his boat. Make sure to get some supplies, and when you're ready, go
talk to him.
Senel will chase down Will, and after some talking, the young man will want
to race your boat. You'll do so, and your engine will go kablooey. Harriet
then comes out from the ship, and claims that she paid so you can use the
ship. We still need to chase after Will and Chloe.
==============
THE CRAGS
==============
Use the save point to the left of you and the heal point and continue left.
Head through the black field and grab the chest and head through the other
black field. Keep going to the left and go through some more black fields
for a few more chests. Keep going left and you'll find another otter. He'll
tell you that he was working on an underwater machine, and a goat sunk it, and
he seems pretty bummed about it. He'll ask you to escort him to his village.
Continue on and go through the next black field for another chest. Go through
the next black field for another chest, and head south for a few more chests.
On the next screen, you'll find another save point and heal point. Use them
and go through the next black field for a few more chests. Follow the path
northwards and left for another black field. Keep going until you reach the
next area and head south for another chest. Head southwest for a chest and
then north for a scene.
Seems like the goat is nearby, and Norma makes fun of Harriet for freaking out
about it. As Norma gets near the ledge, a huge creature similiar to the
Dinowyrm jumps out, meaning it's time to fight.

-This fight isn't really that hard, but can be annoying depending if Norma
wants to guard or not. All the Dinogorgon will do is stay stationary on the
other side of the screen and spew water out at you. Run over and start
hitting it for a few seconds. Once it starts to rise, guard and you'll reduce
the damage taken from the water, but Norma tends to not guard from some time
to time, so make sure to keep an eye on her HP. That's the only threat, so
just keep attacking and you'll come out on top.
-----------------------------
Head north and through the black fields, and head to the left to exit The
Crags.
A scene will trigger and you'll come across a boat. Take it to head to the
Otters village. Take the boat and head north to run into Will, Chloe, and
the young man. It appears the young man has tricked Will and Chloe, and a
bunch of otters come out in attack poses, until Senel and the otter comes up.
The young man is surprised, and thanks you for looking after the otter.
The young man reveals himself as Jay. Yes, Jay the Unseen. Head into the
cave and go down the stairs and open the chest. Go back up them and go
through the left passageway.
==============
ORESOREN VILLAGE
==============
You'll trigger a scene where Harriet is revealed as Will's daughter. Seems
like Harriet was born when Will was 19 years old, and Harriet hated him since
he never visited her and never went to her mothers funeral when she died.
It also appears Will is a criminal pretending to be a sheriff and was exiled
from his village. Harriet yells at him, saying she hates him, and then she
runs off into the village.
There's an inn right by you once you regain control, and it's free, so use it
if you need to refill your health. There's an item shop, weapon shop, armor
shop, and a food shop, all next to each other. Upgrade your items as needed
and head to the back of the village and enter the house to find Jay and the
others.
Jay will outline the situation, pointing out Vaclav's location and where
the soldiers will be taking Shirley. Jay suggests that you should ambush
the soldiers bringing Shirley to their destination. Jay asks you to meet him
at the Waterways, and will bring out the entire plan once you reach him.
Leave the house and Will and Chloe will join your party again. Head back into
the house and climb the stairs and grab the chest at the top for a new recipe.
Exit the house and check the docks to find Pac-Man. Examine him to find Mimi
again to get the recipe for making a Bagel. Make sure to upgrade Will's and
Chloe's weapons and armor.
Exit the Oresoren Village. There's a duct here, so make sure to activate it.
To reach the waterways, follow the paths and go across the bridges. It's not
as confusing as it sounds. There's a duct outside the Waterways. Activate it
and enter.
==============
WATERWAYS
==============
Jay and two of the otters will be waiting for you once you enter. Jay will
pull his plan together and give you your positions. Right before the
operation is about to start, a loud yelling comes, and lookey who it is.
It's Moses and his gang. During this scene, Moses throws out the best line so
far in the game; "Where's my horny woman at?" I got a good laugh out of
that.
During the mayham, Chloe and Senel will be caught by Stingle. Senel spots
Shirley and makes a run for it. The guards guarding Shirley are downed and
she makes a break for it into the Waterways, and everyone else follows her.
The path here is very linear. Grab the chests along the way as you make your
way across to the next screen. You'll see two guards getting ready to nab
Shirley until Chloe unleashes a Demon Fang, downing them. After some talking,
Melanie shows up, and unleashes a lot of water. Senel drifts through the
water and Shirley dives in after him. Senel goes through the gate, and the
gate closes right as Shirley reaches it. Senel spots Chloe drowning, and
saves her.
Shirley seems to be in a tight spot, until the man with the black wings
appears and saves Shirley and her little friend. The man with the black wings
introduces himself as Walter. The scene shifts back to Senel and Chloe. They
got seperated from Will and Norma. Senel seems to be the only person to know
that Chloe can't swim. Grab the chest here and head up the stairs to run into
Will and Norma. Another scene occurs with Will holding off some soldiers and
tells Shirley to run off and hide in a secret room.
Use the heal point and save point. This is a huge dungeon. Follow the path
and open the chest as you come across it. Go down the stairs and to the right
and through a black field for a chest. Keep going down and to the right
again to reach the next screen. Open the two chests past the black field
here. Take the path when it bends and go to the right and through the black
field for a chest. Head back to the left and go down and go through yet
another black field for another chest. Keep going down this path until you
reach the next screen.
Head south and past the black field for a chest containing 3000 Gald. Hot
damn. Head up and you'll trigger a scene where you bump into Moses. Moses
wants to settle the score here and now, but Will steps in and bonks Moses and
Senel on the head, even though Senel hadn't said anything. Poor Senel.
Once you regain control, continue on down the path to find a duct and the next
puzzle booth.
This one is even easier than the last. All you have to do is light all the
crystals with the Sorcerer's Ring. The ball of light will travel very far,
so you can easily reach the crystal sitting in the bottom portion of the
screen if you line yourself up with it. The crystal at the upper part of the
screen has to be activated with the aid of the reflector. Once you light all
the crystals, the duct will open and you can advance forward.
Head down for a chest and then go to the right to reach the next screen. Grab
the chest here and go back to the left and head further down go past the
black field to the right and up the stairs and open the chest. Head around
the path for another chest and keep following the path until you reach the
next screen. A scene will trigger with Walter collapsing and Melanie's
soldiers are getting closer and closer. The scene goes back to your party.
Seems like Moses wants to tag along for a bit.
Go down and open the chest and follow the path around for a scene. Senel's
Gemini Shell acts up, meaning Shirley must be near by Senel pokes around the
wall for a bit until it opens. Senel rushes in, only to find Walter, and the
other girl. The other girl is scared at first, but explains what happened.
Seems like Shirley decided to make a break for it to distract the soldiers.
Senel asks Moses to put Walter on Giet's back, but Moses quickly declines,
until he learns that Shirley is Senel's sister.
Use the heal point and save point outside and take the left path and go down
the stairs here. Go to the left to the next screen and follow this path
for the next few screens. You'll eventually find two treasure chests. Grab
them and follow the path for two more treasure chests. You'll eventually
reach a save point. Use it and head to the next screen. You'll catch up with
Melanie, but she'll just walk away and let her pet do all the work for her.

this fight should go more smoothly. It also wouldn't hurt to use Climax mode.
Whatever you do, it's not all that hard. It just takes awhile to pierce
through all that armor.

You'll be outside and a scene will explain what happened with Shirley and
why that girl has Shirley's Gemini Shell. During the conversation, Walter
wakes up and immediately flies off with the girl. Ungrateful bastard.
Seems like one of the otters knows where Shirley is being taken. Moses
decides he wants to join your party, but not before Senel gives him an ass

Moses will then join your party, making your party consist of 5 people.

To reach our next destination, the Ruins of Frozen Light. It's a long walk
through a huge canyon, so make sure you're ready. There are Egg Bear Cubs
as enemies here, and their Eres are needed for Will's Antishield Eres skill.
There's a duct outside the entrance, so activate it, and enter.
==============
RUINS OF FROZEN LIGHT
==============
You'll find yourself outside, with a handful of guards guarding the entrance.
Jay appears and tells you that there's another entrance, and that you must
pay him for him to tell you where it is. His price, you ask? His price is
that you risk your lives. Your party agrees to it, and pinpoints on the map
a place called the Great Hollow to the west.
So exit here to the world map, and make your way to the west to the Great
Hollow.
==============
GREAT HOLLOW
==============
The first thing you'll realize is that the Great Hollow pretty much lives up
to its name. It's great in size, and goes downwards. Just a small note, that
some of the enemies here are capable of casting Crystal Eres such as Volt
Arrow and Spread, which can do damage in the hundred range per hit, so make
sure you're well prepared.
Watch the scene and examine the platform, and it'll bring you down to the
next level. Go through the black field to get a new weapon for Chloe. Head
back to the fork and head up and left for a chest. Go back to the fork and
go right and grab the chest here for an Orange Gel. Follow the path until you
hit another black field. Go through it to get a new weapon for Senel. Go
back down and continue to follow the path, and you'll stumble across a chest.
Go past it for a save point. Save your game and head for the next platform.
Examine it to go down.
Head to the left for a couple of chests, and head back to the platform and
go to the right and go down for a chest. Follow this path left and then head
ip. Open the chest here and follow the path here until you reach the next
platform.
You'll reach the bottom of the Great Hollow, and you'll find yourself by a
river. Norma brings up the suggestion of a possibility of swimming, but Chloe
doesn't seem to like that idea. The scene will trigger back to Shirley and
Vaclav. They'll be in front of a huge red tablet with strange words indicated
in it, and it seems Shirley can read it. Vaclav brings up he's brought several
Merines' here before, but killed them because they refused to read the writing.
Once you regain control, go to the left and through the passageway. Will
starts to spaz over the bones on the ground, and then Moses gets on in the
act. Poppo then comes over to you, and invites you to his workshop.
==============
POPPO'S WORKSHOP
==============
Grab the two chests outside of Poppo's Workshop, and talk to the two otters
standing outside. The left one sells items, a Leather Cape, and food. The
other allows you to rest up. Rest up and head into the workshop.
Poppo will reveal his latest invention, the Poppo Mk. III. Chloe spazzes out
when she realizes you'll be going underwater in order to enter the Ruins of
Frozen Light. In order to increase the chance of success, Poppo will want a
horn from a Great Gaet. Once in control, examine the traffic cone to learn a
new recipe from Mimi. Use the save point and exit the workshop.
Head back to the bones and a scene will trigger. Norma finds a horn, and
Moses runs in and throws a spear at it, and then the Gaet will charge at you,
knocking Norma back. I'm sure that spear calmed it down.

-This guy has a lot of HP to knock off, is big, and most of all, he's one mean
yeller' bellied animal. Remember that new sword you got for Chloe at the
Great Hollow? It'll come in handy here, as this boss is vulnerable to Poison,
and with that insane amount of HP this early on, every HP deduction counts.
His most dangerous move is when he'll spin his tail around a few times, dealing
some decent damage. Using Climax Mode will help a lot in this battle. If
you're quick with your Eres, you can get over 70 hits while in Climax mode.
Just make sure to keep an eye on your HP before and after he does his tail
sweep.
-----------------------------
Poppo runs up and finds out that you guys agitated the Great One, as the otters
call it. Poppo will apologize to it and ask it for its horn. For some reason,
it allows Poppo to take it. Pffft. I'd freakin' step on them if they asked
me for it after I had a spear thrown at me.
You'll head back to the workshop and you'll find Jay there. Jay will tell you
it will take one night to get the horn on correctly, so Moses challenges Senel
to a swimming race. Outside, Senel and Moses will come back, with Senel
winning every race. A flashback will then occur of Senel, Shirley, and
Shirley's older sister, Stella. Stella and Shirley explains the ritual that
occurs here when a man proposes to a woman. Hehe. "Embracing" in the water
makes the water glow. I'm such a dirty boy.
The Poppo Mk. III will soon be finished, and Senel will be the captain of it.
Jay will tell you to look for a star on a wall once you reach the Ruins of
Frozen Light. The Poppo Mk. III will then take off. As you sail through the
water, your party decides they have some things they want to say. As you
near the end of your journey, water will start to come aboard the ship, and
Chloe will faint.
Once you reach the ruins, the Poppo Mk. III will sink. Well, it seems that
luck is on our side for once.
==============
RUINS OF FROZEN LIGHT
==============
Gotta love the music here. Head into the ruins and you'll find the Star on the
wall that Jay pointed out. Norma will poke around at it, and then kick it.
The wall will then open and the party will run through, only to find themselves
at the entrance of the ruins. Seems like Senel and the others were just a
guinea pig for Poppo's newest submarine.
Go back into the ruins and take the other doo
